OSD Care & Warranty Guide

How One Stop Decorating supports you after installation — service guidance, Hunter Douglas warranty help, repair coordination, and everyday care for your window treatments.

After Installation

A guarantee is only as strong as the company standing behind it.

Custom window treatments are an investment in your home. Our promise is simple: we help you make the right choice, measure it correctly, install it professionally, and stand behind our work after the sale. After installation, One Stop Decorating remains your first call for service guidance, warranty support, and repair coordination.

If you purchased from One Stop Decorating, we offer a one-year service promise for standard adjustments and service needs after installation. After one year, standard manufacturer, freight, repair, or service charges may apply.
1
First-Year Service Promise
For the first year after installation, standard adjustments and service needs on products purchased from One Stop Decorating are handled with no standard service trip charge. If the issue involves parts, freight, manufacturer repair, unusual access, or conditions outside normal adjustment, our team will explain the next steps before work proceeds.
2
Hunter Douglas Warranty Support
As your original Hunter Douglas Gallery Dealer, we help facilitate eligible Hunter Douglas warranty repairs according to Hunter Douglas’ published warranty guidelines. Coverage depends on the product, component, age, cause of failure, and manufacturer policy.
3
Non-Warranty Repairs
If a repair is outside manufacturer warranty coverage, our team will help determine whether the product should be adjusted on-site, brought to a showroom, sent to the manufacturer, or replaced. Any applicable service, labor, parts, freight, or handling charges will be reviewed before the work is approved.
4
Current Service Pricing
Service costs can change over time. Please contact One Stop Decorating at 913-562-6888 for the most current service guidance — we will explain the likely repair path, warranty status, and any applicable charges before proceeding with non-warranty work.

Covered, for as Long as You Own It

The Hunter Douglas Lifetime Limited Warranty.

Hunter Douglas backs its products with a Lifetime Limited Warranty. Here is a plain-language summary of what is generally covered and what is not — the manufacturer’s published warranty terms govern actual coverage.

Covered
By the Lifetime Limited Warranty
  • Defects in materials, workmanship, or failure to operate, for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product (unless a shorter period applies).
  • All internal mechanisms.
  • Components and brackets.
  • Fabric delamination.
  • Operational cords for a full 7 years from the date of purchase.
  • Hunter Douglas motorization components for 5 years from the date of purchase.
  • Repairs and/or replacements are made with like or similar parts or products.
Not Covered
By the Lifetime Limited Warranty
  • Conditions caused by normal wear and tear.
  • Abuse, accidents, misuse, or alterations to the product.
  • Exposure to the elements (sun damage, wind, water/moisture) and discoloration or fading over time.
  • Failure to follow instructions for measurement, proper installation, cleaning, or maintenance.
  • Shipping charges, cost of removal, and reinstallation.

This page is a convenience summary, not a warranty document. Coverage is determined by the manufacturer’s published warranty terms for your specific product, and different warranty periods and terms apply to commercial products and applications. Custom window treatments are made to order for your windows. In no event shall Hunter Douglas or its licensed fabricators/distributors be liable for incidental or consequential damages; some states do not allow such exclusions, so this may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Care & Everyday Use

Simple habits that keep treatments working beautifully.

Dust Regularly
A feather duster, soft microfiber cloth, or vacuum with a soft brush attachment on low suction keeps most treatments fresh. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.
Operate as Designed
Lift, lower, and tilt smoothly using the operating system your product was built with. If a treatment sticks or resists, stop and call us — forcing it can cause damage the warranty may not cover.
Ask Before Deep Cleaning
Cleaning methods differ by fabric and product line — what’s right for one shade can harm another. Contact us before spot-treating or professionally cleaning a specific fabric.
Mind Moisture & Sun
Prolonged moisture and direct sun exposure age any window treatment, and weather-related fading or damage is generally not covered by warranty. Ask us about the right materials for humid or high-sun rooms.
Motorized & PowerView® Care
Recharge or replace batteries as your product’s instructions describe, and keep remotes and hubs updated. If a motorized shade stops responding, we can help you troubleshoot before scheduling service.
Call Before DIY Repairs
Please don’t disassemble a treatment to fix it yourself — alterations can affect warranty coverage. A quick call to OSD usually identifies the fastest, safest repair path.
Clear process. Current information. No surprises. We will explain the likely repair path, warranty status, and any applicable charges before proceeding with non-warranty work.
